Jan lived in Havelte. He was the son of Albert Spin and Maria Orsel-Spin. In 1939 he married Jantje Monis and they lived in the village. He was a farm labourer. They had 3 Sons; Geert, Albert & Marinus. In August 1944 he was picked up by the German forces and sent to Neungamme forced labour camp then sent onto the satellite camp of Husum-Schwesing where three months later he sadly lost his life. He now is survived by his son Albert and granddaughter Tracey and families now in UK also Alberts brothers families in the Neiuwlesen area. We are so proud to have learnt about him and pleased he is now at rest back in the Nederlands.
