Joseph Nedza

Pfc Joseph Nedza attended South High School. He enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 12 February 1943. Pvt Nedza had been posthumously awarded a Silver Star Medal wiping out an enemy machine gun nest single-handed. He lost his life in the action. Pfc Nedza was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, the Netherlands on 23 September 1944. His twin brother, Pfc Edward Nedza, was killed in action in New Guinea on 27 May 1944. He is buried at the American Military Cemetery of Manila.
