Pieter Jacob Kamphuis

Pieter was married to Adelaide Leonie Stephanie du Cloux ( b.31.5.1906) and they were the parents of three children : Rolf Pieter ( b.3.8.34) , Guustaaf Paul (b. 23.8.37)and Irene Adelaide ( b.23.10.39). Working in the Dutch East Indies as drilling engineer , he was responsible for planning and executing operations that drill for gas and oil. He was involved in the entire drilling life cycle, from initial well design to testing to supervising a drilling crew. He was an employee of Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij (better known as BPM), Dutch for Batavian Oil Company, which was a subsidiary of the Royal Dutch Shell oil company established in 1907 to extract and refine oil in the Netherlands East Indies. His wife and children survived their agonising years in Japanese concentration camps. Paul cared for his mother Adelaide with undying devotion until her death at the age of 56. Pieter Jacob's Grand daughter Elizabeth Adelaide shares his birth month ( 20th November) and he has a Great Grandson who is a Professional Mechanical Engineer. Sluiten
